1.2.5 Data Link Layer

This layer in MPLAB® Harmony TCP/IP Stack Architecture contains two sublayers, the media access control (MAC) sublayer and the physical sublayer. The MAC sublayer is equivalent to the data link layer of the OSI model and physical sublayer aligns with the physical layer of the OSI model. This is responsible for placing TCP/IP packets on the network medium and receiving TCP/IP packets from the network medium.
